Upcoming closure of B4640

Newtown Parish Council has received a clarification response from Hampshire Highways, with regards to the road closure next week:
“Thank you for your correspondence in relation to our proposed resurfacing of the B4640 Newtown Straight. I would like to confirm that the limits of our resurfacing work are the County boundary (50m south of the A339 junction) to a point approximately 15m south of the access of ‘Ian Sanderson Textiles’.
The closure of the B4640 is essential to maintain a safe working environment for the workforce and to help manage the safety of residents and highway users. I appreciate that this may be inconvenient, but I am sure that you will understand, we need to ensure that we keep the delivery of highway works as safe as we can. Pedestrian access for properties should be maintained but should essential vehicular access to / from property within the closure area, please speak to a member of site staff to determine if and how access may be achieved at that time. Highway maintenance works are very dynamic, and site conditions can change very quickly, therefore it is essential that contact is made with a member of site staff before attempting to access the works area with a vehicle.
I would like to request that if essential vehicular access to / from property within is required during the works, that these journeys are kept to a minimum, to help avoid delays in our works programme. We will endeavour to keep the road closures to the published hours of 07:30 – 18:00hrs Mon-Fri, so access will be possible outside of these times. Works will now commence after the bank holiday on Tuesday 26th August. Providing we do not encounter any unexpected delays, we anticipate a total of 5 working days on site.”
